Tidbit of Information: The Aurora Borealis phenomenon, popularly known as the "Northern Lights", is actually caused by a solar wind of electrons that speeds towards the magnetic poles of our planet. Once in our atmosphere, the elecrons excite the ions in the sky, turning them into a myriad of colours, especially green. The "Northern Lights" are occasionally visible as low as the 40th parallel in the U.S.
