Balancing Activists in the New World
If there's one thing Liberals and Conservatives agree on, it's that the Media is extremely biased. The conspiracy of brainwashing imposed by our links to the outside world is closely monitored by political talk show hosts and their cyberspace counterparts who devote much, if not most of their time to exposing the Media's true agenda. And that is to fool us dupes (or dupe us fools) into voting for the wrong candidates for the wrong reasons, while pushing programs designed to move money from our bank accounts to theirs.

*Disclaimer* The operator of this website has almost no knowledge of history, current events, or political science- he is undecided, fence-sitting, moderate. Yet, for some perverse reason, his vote is more important than that of a die-hard Liberal or Conservative. His vote decides the close elections. Just watch how the candidates shift their policies toward the center as election day draws near. They be the "Johns," he be the prostitute. He has no ideological remorse, and will change sides before the hat hits the ground. Debates are welcomed, but don't bother, you won't win. Masse' Media The way I see it, there are two ends of the news reporting spectrum : 1. The non-partisan, impartial major network newscasts from the "Big Three," plus CNN and Fox (you're thinking "Yeah, right!" but I'm speaking in ideal terms here, and as most people probably perceive them), who "just report the news." 2. The openly partisan, admittedly biased individuals and groups who look at reported news and comment on its relative quality and mistakes, relying on logical argument to sway the listener (or reader). Again, this is ideally speaking! Alternative news sources range from corporate sponsored "think tanks" to one-person operations. All claim to present news that is omitted or censored by the mainstream media. These self-styled media watchdogs in Category 2 also take aim at their counterpart watchdogs of the opposite political faith. So what we obviously need here is a relatively unbiased moderate watchdog to watch the other dogs watching themselves.
Above is the USA version of the middle eastern veil. As the threat of biochemical terror draws closer, Congress may pass a law requiring women to wear gas masks, since they're the ones that bear children. Our Elected Officials have already taken steps to ensure their own safety (their self-preservation instincts are now legendary), and if bad comes to worse, they may be the only ones around for procreation (Democrats, help the Republicans!). This is Social Darwinism at its best. NOV 8 01
Ironic Reaction On June 1, Jon Caldara (850 KOA) discussed an article that involved a decision not to allow ceremonial guns to be carried in the De Pere, WI Memorial Day Parade. "Does anybody but me see the irony in this? Do I need to define irony for you?" he asked. And his "the logic of these liberals" catch phrase is repeated about once every minute. Jon also implied that some- how this would be a dishonor to all veterans, or as Rep. Phil Montgomery (R-Ashwaubenon) put it, "It would have been 'offensive' to not have the guns in the ceremony." * First of all, Jon is confusing Veteran's Day with Memorial Day -- the former honors all veterans of our armed forces, the latter honors those vets who died in the wars. So to be perfectly logical, it would make more sense to just have them carry caskets draped with American flags. But didn't General Patton say that you don't win a war by dying for your country, you make the other bastard die for his? (I know, it's ironic.) According to the follow-up article in the Green Bay Press-Gazette: "Initially, [Jason] Paul said the emphasis should be placed on the veterans, not the ceremonial guns. There were also parental concerns about veterans firing their guns at random times and the negative influence the weapons had on children viewing a 'happy event,' he said.'' I am not sure how "firing their guns at random times" fits into the parade -- unless you're describing the present situation in Iraq -- but Caldara did not fully address that issue. In any event, the people of De Pere reached a compromise: "But because of concern for public and national safety post-Sept. 11, 2001, the weapons will not be discharged in the parade, except for a 21-gun salute, said chairman Jason Paul." * I called in to 850 KOA, prepared to be just as "logical" as Jon was. The screener answered, "You want to speak to Jon?" "Yeah," I said, "For one thing, I'd like to know which branch of service he was in." She an- swered, "We don't need to talk to you tonight." and hung up. What? Caldara passing up a chance to prove how illogical liberals are? Now I don't really know or care about Jon's service record. But before I call in to his show again, I should probably narrow my definition of "irony." JUNE 1 03
Clearchannel Calumny (Ken Sasso, 850 KOA) What a piece of work this guy Sasso is -- he says gays are a rare anomaly of birth analogous to pathological criminals and bestiality advocates, and at the same time complains of the cost to businesses if same-sex marriage is allowed. If gays are a low percentage of the population as he says, then they will have little or no effect on business. Then he continued to suck out of both sides of his mouth by claiming that he is not a traditional "Christian," but that he is a "follower of Christ," whatever the hell that means -- Judas was a follower of Christ, too. So he avoids the Religious Right fundamentalist label, but sides with them on the issue. -- Flash You filtered everything to fit your personal level of anger and hatred. Get help! Out of 45 e-mails that were very positive, you are the lone ranger of gross blithering assault without reason. Gays are in a difficult place because of the likes of you. And that is a sad commentary. Yes, I am a piece of work.... in progress. You on the other hand know it all. "Those that think they know, don't, and those that know they don't know, know!" - Joseph Campbell-- Ken Sasso NOV 18 03
