Statement of Purpose
The Southern Belle Society is a social group founded and established in
1998 by Ms Rachel Renee McCullough. It was Rachel's dream then, and today,
that Transgender persons could meet one another via the Internet or through
personal contact, develop friendships and meet socially.
The primary purpose of The Southern Belle Society is to make that dream a
reality. The members of The Southern Belle Society have found that personal
interaction in open social environments helps to foster self-respect,
self-confidence, friendship; and acceptance from society as a whole. It is our
desire that no Transgender person need ever have to feel isolated or alone.

A Message from Ms. Founder
Hello! ,
Our group was formed for the purpose of getting like minded girls together, for getting out on the town, and, or just socializing.
Not surprisingly, with all these wonderful Belles, it has begun to evolve in to something more.
Years ago, I became aware of the fact that I felt isolated and alone in my feelings. After months maybe even years of summoning the courage, I reached out to a Sister who helped me see that I was not alone and that there were hundreds, no thousands of girls, just like me out there.
She lived eight hundred miles from me but I could barely contain myself!
Some one like me!!
I was not alone!!
I remember the emotions that overnight changed from
despair to joy as I met "another girl"!
From there it blossomed into friendships and
acquaintances all over the United States. Then a truly wonderful thing
happened... The Internet.
Since trembling fingers first typed that term, "Transgendered" into the search engine, my world has expanded geometrically!
I've come to know, oh so many beautiful people and to realize that those thousands are actually millions, and from all over the world.
I owe so much to so many people, so many individuals from the letter writing days, so many web sites, so many sympathetic ears from the chat rooms, and so many wonderful friends. The only thing that seems right, is to continue on in like fashion.
So, here you will find, Sisters, maybe like yourself, some helpful links, stories and pictures of our times together, and maybe, just maybe, I hope you'll find that feeling of belonging in our community.
And if nothing else, if it's needed, that you'll find some peace with who you are by visiting here.
