Directions to the library:
From I-5 take Exit 194 west onto I-105 (OR 126). Take Exit 2, Coburg
Road, heading for downtown Eugene over the Ferry Street Bridge. Stay in
the right lane and take the 8th Street exit ramp going west. Take a
left on Willamette Street, left on 10th Street, and another left onto
Oak Street. The Overpark Garage entrance will appear on your left very
quickly. Park your car and take the elevator down to street level. From
the North elevator turn left upon exiting the elevator and go the the
"alley." The OGS Library is to your right. If you take the
South elevator (it has windows) you will turn left out of the elevator
and cross 10th Avenue. OGS is 1/2 block straight ahead down Oak Alley
on your right. Parking rates in the garage are reasonable and
the first hour is free.
The downtown Lane Transit
station is 1 1/2 blocks West of the library down 10th Avenue.
If you are able to use the city bus, the terminal is just a couple of
blocks from the library.
If you are traveling from
out of town and cannot visit during our regular hours, we will try to
accommodate you. Please call the library to make an
appointment.

OGS Meetings
The regular meetings of the Society are open to the
public and are held in the EWEB Community Room in the North Building,
500 E. 4th Ave., Eugene, Oregon on the fourth Saturday of each month
(except December). Business meeting begins at 11:00 a.m. and an
educational program begins at 1:00 p.m.
Oregon Research
The Oregon Genealogical Society will do research on
request. We have several members of OGS on our research team. We will
do research over the State of Oregon, specially Lane, Linn, Douglas and
Benton counties. We charge $10 US per hour plus photocopies and postage
with a minimum charge of $10 US. If we have to go outside of Oregon
Genealogical Society Library, there is a charge for gas and parking
fees. For other project fees, send request to Research, OGS, P.O.
Box 10306, Eugene, OR 97440-2306, or contact our research coordinator, Chester
Stevenson.
Genealogical
Queries
Are accepted from members and non-members for the
Quarterly and are published as space allows. Non-member queries are
$2.00 US. Queries may be up to 75 words. Deadlines for the Quarterly
are the first of March, June, September, and December for the
following month's issue.
Classes,
Seminars & Workshops
Are held regularly to aid anyone interested in
genealogical research. Please check the "Events Calendar" link above
and/or call the OGS Library at (541) 345-0399 for more information
on cost, scheduling and topics.
Donations
The Oregon Genealogical Society gratefully accepts
donations of genealogical or historical books, family histories and
other related publications, office materials and money to help maintain
and expand the library. Donations can be made at the Library, at
meetings or by mail. As a non-profit organization, OGS depends on
the efforts of its volunteers and the support of the community.
OGS Library
Fund
Members and friends are invited to contribute to the
Oregon Genealogical Society Library Fund. This fund is used to purchase
books, periodicals and pay the rental of the library space. You may
designate the above areas of the library fund to which you want your
money applied. Donations to the Society, a non-profit organization, are
fully tax deductible. Make contribution checks payable to OGS
Library Fund and send to: Library Fund, c/o The Oregon Genealogical
Society, P.O. Box 10306, Eugene, OR 97440-2306.
Oregon Early
Settler & Pioneer Certificates
EARLY
OREGON PIONEERS
The Oregon Genealogical Society invites you to join in our effort to
record and preserve our Early Oregon History. Each certificate is
printed on parchment-type paper (8.5"x11") with our official seal and
your family name in calligraphy. The certificates are $10.00 US each
and are suitable for framing.
You are eligible to apply for an Oregon
Pioneer Certificate if your ancestors lived in Oregon Territory or
Oregon before October 31, 1872.
You are eligible to apply for an Early
Settler Certificate if your ancestor settled in Oregon between October
31, 1872 and December 31, 1900.

you have further questions about Oregon Pioneer Certificates, please
