Until further notice the Good Hope Centre (GHC) project is officially closed. Global Relief would like to thank everyone who has contributed towards helping the survivors of the xenophobic attacks. Solidarity Peace Trust, the organisation who has funded much of the equipment used by the GHC including 3 wendyhouses, is still assisting the teachers with their immediate needs. Please find their contact details at www.solidaritypeacetrust.org Facilitating Reintegration More than 2 months after the xenophobic violence broke out displaced foreigners are still in tented camps. The Solidarity Peace Trust has donated 3 wendyhouses to the Good Hope Centre at the Rand Airport camp. One lady remarked that this excellent training had been a valuable augmentation of her capacity to serve. The five facilitators who have a broad-based combined expertise of theory and practice imparted deep insights and stark realism about the implications of being involved in trauma mitigation. More than thirty participants were intensely involved in the training. This means an increase in GRf capacity to serve.Watch this space for future courses.
