United Kingdom meeting a great success!
The facilities provided by Myerscough Hall College, were wonderful.
Through the day everyone joined in with discussions, views, and observations.
We had travelled from the North East of England, Lancashire county and across the pond from Canada.
The following items were discussed at length :-
1. Proof by statistics obtained from the 1901 to1841 censuses, that most of the Whiteside clan originated from the FYLDE. that piece of land between, Blackpool, Preston and Lancaster.
2. Using the database of the Wills index of the UK from 1858 to 1947(compiled by David Whiteside), to show details of the deceased identity, next of kin, when the will proved. (The contents of this list has assisted some of those attending to identify their past ancestors.
3. Births, deaths,& marriage list compiled by Bob Whiteside from 1560's to 1980's. This was in alphabetical order and again proved the fact that many of the Whiteside name originated from the FYLDE.
4. Discussed the details held on the Commonwealth War Graves Commision site (CWGC)
5. Extracts from the London Gazette Archives site (compiled by David Whiteside.
6. Statistics and yDNA concerning the Whiteside Family Association. Bill G Whiteside gave a concise description of the WFA and the DNA facts.

We all have dreams of the future and things that we hope will happen. The Directors and Officers of the Whiteside Family Association have a wish for the future. We would like to see a depository for all the data, books, charts, CDs that are being gathered together. It would be wonderful to have these in one central spot with staff or volunteers that would search for and provide information on the extended family. Perhaps a wing or a section of a library or museum named for the Association or maybe even a benefactor.
