rampage: Northeast Passage brings 'murderball' to UNH
Northeast Passage, founded in 1990, is a nationally recognized leader
in the provision of innovative therapeutic recreation services. Northeast
Passage delivers disability-related health promotion and adapted sports
programs throughout New England. Northeast Passage is a program of
the University of New Hampshire’s College of Health and Human
Services and is an affiliate of Disabled Sports USA.
Based at the University of New Hampshire’s Durham campus, Northeast
Passage runs three core programs for people with disabilities, their
families and friends:
Sports & Recreation
Providing A-Z service, from entry-level instruction, to casual
recreation, equipment rental and competitive sports. This program
also includes an Athlete Development component, a unique opportunity
for competitive athletes with disabilities to attend UNH as
student-athletes.
TREK
(Therapeutic Recreation Empowering Kids)
Working with parents, school administrators, teachers and other
related service providers to ensure equal opportunity for students
with physical and developmental disabilities
PATH
(Promoting Access Transition Health)
Empowering individuals living with disabling conditions by providing
1:1 support so that they reach their maximum potential to lead
active, healthy lives.
 
Northeast Passage also works with students, faculty and staff at the University of New Hampshire to improve disability awareness. Northeast Passage provides services to individuals with disabilities on campus and education to students in their field of study (including therapeutic recreation, engineering, and outdoor education).
