Monday, August 18, 2008Don´t trade riches for soup
I have to admit that this soup looks really tasty, but please don´t
trade riches for soup. Don´t settle for the leeks of Egypt over the
promised land (Num 11). Don´t give up your incredible gifting from God
for a sexy woman (Judges 16). Don´t squander God´s calling because
of a herd of sheep (1 Sam 15). Don´t trade the garden of Eden for
one quick bite of fruit (Gen 3).
And don´t trade your birthright for soup (Gen 25).

His justice."Doug Wilson4:15 PM - 1 view - add eprops - add comments - email itTuesday, July 29, 2008Two EvilsI´m tired of voting for the "lesser" of two evils. First of all, it´s impossible to know who will actually be more evil since when elected not many politicians actually do what they say.Secondly, if you are lucky and do vote for the lesser evil, he still is evil.Thirdly, would it be morally justifiable to vote for Hitler over Stalin since Hitler murdered "only" 11 million and Stalin 22 million, thus making Hitler "less evil"? I think not. I´m not comparing Obama nor Mccain to Stalin or Hitler, but I do question this method of choosing a candidate.I´m unsure how God feels about Mccain, but I´m as sure as the sun rising tomorrow that I don´t want to give an account before God of why I would have voted for him. And yes... I´ve already asked God´s forgiveness for voting for George W. Bush. I thank God that He´s merciful.1:56 PM - 36 views - 2 eprops - 1 comment - email itSaturday, July 19, 2008Campamento "Se Diferente" Last week I was a camp counselor in camp "Be Different." It was a five day camp that was very fun and very tiring. Started on Wednesday, ended on Sunday, I slept on Monday and then got sick all Tuesday (I think it was due to bad pizza on top of the fatigue). The camp's focus was on being different in the way we think and act... to follow God in all aspects of life and to act towards all in true love. True love looks out for others before self in every relationship. It's always great to be able to make a positive impact in the lives of others. I had a ton of fun spending the week with the 4 guys in my cabin. It was a bilingual camp, and even though all my campers spoke great English we did our Bible studies in Spanish. The Bible studies were created by a graduate from the Seminary here in Siguat and, in my opinion, were very good. The challenge of a camp like this is to create enough comradery, trust and relationship within the group to help the guys to open up a little to really talk about important issues in their lives. Pictures of my group we took during a photo treasure hunt. In the photo treasure hunt we had to take pictures of people in the group in certain places, doing certain things or with certain objects. You got more points if all the group was in the picture. My camera's timer came in really handy! Last picture from left to right: Kurt (James Blunt), Sammy (Chicken Little), Edwin (Chewbacca), Javier (Jati), Jimmy (Samurai). Siguat at night from the camp, which is up even higher in the mountains. It got fairly cold at night. High action photo of Josue Vega, another camp counselor and friend of mine. 11:45 AM - 1 view - add eprops - add comments - email itAcupuncture Side Effect? :) Every medical intervention has some side effects! 11:04 AM - 1 view - add eprops - add comments - email itNext 5 >>
