 Candler School Of Theology To Host Twenty-first Annual Reformation Day At Emory Events
“America’s German Heritage” is the theme of the 21st annual Reformation Day program Tuesday, Oct. 21 sponsored by Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.
The program includes a rich array of lectures and music, culminating in a performance of Bach’s Magnificat by the Emory University Concert Choir under the direction of Prof. Eric Nelson. The concert will take place in the Cherry Emerson Concert Hall at the Donna and Marvin Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, located at the corner of North Decatur and Clifton roads.  Mary Elizabeth Moore Named Boston University School of Theology Dean
After a nine-month-long search, Boston University’s oldest school has a new dean. Mary Elizabeth Moore, a professor of religion and theology and director of the Women in Theology and Ministry program at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, will assume her duties as dean of the School of Theology beginning January 1, 2009. She will succeed Ray L. Hart, an STH professor of religion and theology, who was appointed dean ad interim in 2003, following the resignation of Robert C. Neville .Read more»

 Black Church Studies Director Named At Emory's Candler School Of Theology
Teresa Fry Brown, associate professor of homiletics at Emory University's Candler School of Theology, has been named director of the school's Black Church Studies Program as part of its effort to educate faithful leaders for the church and its ministries in the world.
"In her role as scholar, teacher and dedicated servant in her own church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Dr. Fry Brown embodies the best of Candler's tradition of serving both the academy and the church," says Jan Love, dean of Candler. "She will be a powerful and creative leader for the Black Church Studies Program and for the whole community."
