The Miami were a sedentary
hunter/farmer confederacy closely related to the Illinois. They
were located about the southwestern and southern shore of Lake
Michigan. They relocated often and suffered greatly from conflicts
with Whites and other tribes.
The Miami have lost much of
their culture and are striving to retrieve their language.
