It was because I didn’t really know what I should do for a career when I was leaving school, and which degree, if any, I should go for. I mean, I knew what I wanted to do, but, the realist part of me knew I should think about a real career. So when I finally got my results back and it turns out there was about 20 careers I’d be ideally suited for. Apparently I’m an all rounder. To give an example, two suggested career paths were accountancy or forensic science. I mean, what the hell!? How is that supposed to help. So I thought, screw it, I’ll do a philosophy degree instead…PS – kept my promise blog... Feeding the masses Saturday - July 5th, 2008 1 Comment Ok, I am now a feed burner convert. Feedburner will take your normal rss feed and sprinkle some magic dust on it. Well, I guess that’s how they do it any way. Feed burner allows the feed owner to see some pretty cool statistcs about their subscribers, including how many people have subscribed, popular feed items, live hits, the reader’s underwear colour. Ok, that last one is not strictly speaking true. The point of this post is that I am now using a feed burner feed on the site, and I want all of you who have subscribed to the feed to subscribe again, using the new links. It would be doing me a HUGE favour. Please please please? All you need to do is unsubscribe from the current feed, and then click here to subscribe again. I’ll be putting up another link on the site soon. Thanks guys. New Project Revealed Tuesday - July 1st, 2008 1 Comment Ok, so I promised a post, and here it is. I actually tried making a video blog post, but, bah, it didn’t go so well. Figured it’d be quicker to type it out. So, an explanation for the comic’s tardiness last week? I have a new site that launched today! Go me. It’s called fartoocute.com. Immediately most of you will guess from the name that it’s completely different to my work here at apathetic rant, and you’re pretty much right. Far too cute is just a fun new site I came up with, a place I can put some of the random doodles I do throughout the day. They just happen to be cute… Don’t worry though, I’m not going anywhere! Apathetic Rant will continue in its updates. Far too cute just gives me a secondary outlet, something different to sink my teeth, or graphics pens into. The grumpy Mike is still here, just as bitter as ever, and not even a few cute toons can stop his rants! The site updates twice a week, Monday and Fridays, leaving Tuesdays and Thursdays for Apathetic Rant. So why not head on over, comment on a few of the toons, and, most importantly, do that whole web 2.0 thing, tell your friends, post it to facebook, stumble it, myspace it, tell your grandma. Heck, tattoo the URL to your forehead if you want. Anything to spread the word, I’ll love you forever. And if you happen to mention Apathetic Rant whilst you’re doing, so much the better! His brother critiques the comic Wednesday - June 18th, 2008 5 Comments My brother explains why my webcomic sucks and why you shouldn’t read it: He leaves for summer Sunday - June 15th, 2008 1 Comment Ok, so I made this a few days ago, but only just got around to posting about it here: He’s a day late Saturday - May 31st, 2008 7 Comments Another video blog entry - exams, hosts and cookies - this video has them all! Check check check it out! New Wallpapers Monday - April 28th, 2008 Comment So I promised them, so here they are, or rather, there they are. Over there. Uk Webcomix Thing Tuesday - March 25th, 2008 2 Comments So on Saturday I set off for London to go to “The Thing”, dragging my brother along with me. I didn’t have a stall or anything, just went to see what a convention was like, and to see the people that make the comics that I read. After taking a wrong turned and walking for while down the wrong end of the aptly named “Mile End” we eventually got there. I swear that was the windiest road in Britain. Today at least. I’d heard the forecast that it’d be a cold one but I thought, “hey, it’s London, it never gets THAT cold in London…” Silly me. So after being battered by the bitterly cold wind it was nice to get inside. I was of course late for a rendez vous with NobbyNobody from the quite simply amazing Odd-fish and Anezka from the TWCL forums. But they were found happily chatting to each other. We even got a free key chain from Nobby. Score! Speaking of Merchandise, I bought the two bunny books, and got Huw to doodle in them. Also, weirdly, I bought Issue one of Steve and Bob by Michael Georiou. Weirdly because I had literally only come across Steve and Bob the night before, and hadn’t realised he was going to be there. So when I recognised the art and characters I had to say hi.All in all it was a good day out. I bought a few other bits and bobs, got a few freebies and plenty of flyers. The only downside is that the moo minicards that I’d ordered didn’t arrive in time for me to take, so I had nothing to hand out. A bit of a missed opportunity! But it was nice to go to a convention for the first time. And I’ll definitely be going next year. Who knows, I may even get a table! Make your own facebook application for your comic RSS feed Thursday - January 31st, 2008 37 Comments Due to the success of my Facebook application, and a growing number of emails from other webcomic owners asking for help making their own I have decided to release the files I used, and write a tutorial on how to make your own Facebook application.
