He gave the very current situation in USA for the reasons American turning to Islam. Just couple of months before i was working on this topic gathering information from various sources on “Why Are So Many Priests & Preachers Entering Islam?” What really caused me to cite some of his current observations here is really matter of concern for all of us who have great concern and burden to see kingdom of God may establish in the hearts of our Muslim friends . As we read it will help us to know where we (as Church) are lacking and what we can gain a right perspective and see the Kingdom of God moving forward. Fouad writes that when he asked a simple question in a classroom of 100 people. “Do you know anyone who has converted to Islam? If so, raise your hand.” Nearly every hand in the room went upit is an estimated 25,000 Americans become Muslims every year; the number of conversions has quadrupled, some clerics report, since 9/11.Several experts have theorized on why Americans are flocking to Islam; some say it’s because of Islam’s ‘universal appeal’ through incorporating some Jewish and Christian teachings. (NY Times.com, “A Nation Challenged” by Jodi Wilgoren.) See NY Times article. Fouad says ” In my experience with Muslim converts and speaking with their families, we’ve found there are three general reasons Americans investigate and turn to Islam”. Three Main Reasons Americans Convert1. Disillusionment with the American Church - their desire for close-knit community and sense of belonging is not being met in church2. Lack of understanding of true Islam - they only know the surface teachings and are not converting to Islam as dictated by the Qur’an and HadithChristians have failed to articulate their faith - we don’t know what we believe and how to tell others Perhaps Eric puts it best. This Texan had ambitions of becoming a Christian preacher un eric til he converted to Islam. In the BBC documentary “Turning Muslim in Texas,” Eric explains what attracted him to Islam - “Islam is everything I wanted Christianity to be.”Watch Eric’s story on YouTube.Some Christians who watch stories like Eric’s are disheartened. But we must gain perspective. Christ is building his church. His Kingdom is moving forward into regions previously untouched by the Gospel. No power in earth or heaven can derail the Christ’s intentions; “the kingdom of God is forcefully advancing” (Matthew 11:12).
