(2006) Cooperative Project through SSFC for OMNR Peterborough
With my partner, I researched and experimented with a selection of software to develop the best process for automating the creation of forest cover vectors from scanned topographic maps. We generated a report documenting the research process, an MS Access Database, and a customized software tool with accompanying user manual. The tool will allow MNR summer students to generate shape files of forest cover from different editions of NTS maps so significant changes in area can be calculated and identified.
