JEFF'S
PARENTS
Jeff's father
worked in the financial department for an insurance company.
His mother worked
as a crossing guard and as a legal secretary.
LINDA'S PARENTS
Linda's father
worked as a machinist and
her mother owned
a flower store.
The
TOP PICTURES are pictures of our grandparents.
Picture #1
has Gertrude Lamansky Young and her husband Herbert Young. It was taken on North
Shore Drive in Moline, Illinois before 1945. I do not know whose house is behind
them; however Hebert had a sister and a brother who both lived in this area.
Picture #2
is a wedding picture of Frances Bicknell Dohrn and John Henry Dohrn. They were
married on October 23, 1917.
Picture #3
shows Julian Taylor, his wife Bessie Carter Taylor and their two children. This
picture was probably taken about 1925 in Cortez, Florida.
Picture #4
is a later picture of Harry Mose and his wife Maude Smith Mose taken in front
of their house. The picture was probably taken in the 1950's.
ABOUT US
Jeff Young
was born in 1950 and was raised in Rock Island, Illinois. Jeff has two older
sisters. He went to college in Omaha, Nebraska and returned to the Quad
City area in the 1970's. He works as a Pharmacist at a local hospital where
he met his wife. His wife was working as a med nurse at the hospital. Jeff enjoys
his family, genealogy and traveling.
Linda Young
was raised on a farm near Port Byron, Illinois. She is the middle child having
1 older brother and 3 sisters. She went to a local college and received her
LPN degree in 1972. That same year she got her first nursing job in Peoria.
She worked there for 3 years, then returned to the Quad City area. At Lutheran
Hospital in Moline, Linda worked on the Orthopedics floor for 9 years. She has
also worked as a school nurse and as a nurse at a group home for developmentally
disabled adults. Linda has been PTA President for several years and President
of the Autism Society, Quad City Chapter. Her interests revolve around her children
and her grand child. Linda enjoys yard sales and crafting.
Nick works
full time at Rent Way and is a part time student at a local junior college.
He is studying international business. He has an 11 year old son.
Michael is
autistic. He lives at a group home in Peoria. Michael loves cars, food music
and fair rides. He loves to tease people and has a great sense of humor. See

Brandon
is 11 years old and lives with his grandfather and grandmother. He is a very
smart kid and is academically gifted.
He enjoys
Church,swimming, putting together “Bionicles” and his kittens. See
Brandon's stuffed animals. Also see "Brandon's Kittens".
