Obama's SS - Mind your history lessons! So... do you think that Barack Obama's change is a good thing?  What about change that resembles Adolph Hitler's SS?The SS grew from a small paramilitary unit to an elite force that served as the Führer's "Praetorian Guard," the Nazi Party's "Shield Squadron" and a force with as much political influence as the regular German armed forces. Built upon the Nazi racial ideology, the SS, under Heinrich Himmler's command, was primarily responsible for the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Nazis during the Second World War.  (Read more about the SS here.)In a speech by Barack Obama given July 2nd in Colorado Springs, he uttered these words..."We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."...in other words, a Special Security force that is under his direct control, unfettered by constraints placed on our military forces regarding action against citizens. He also spoke of civilian service, which includes this...We'll send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people....which smells to high heaven of the Hitler Youth, and the re-education activities of the Nazis.Did you know that Barack Obama supporters in Missouri, particularly Chief's of Police, Sheriffs, and Prosecutors, have banded together in a group called... "The Truth Squad", who's purpose is to "go after" anyone running advertising that is deemed to be "untruthful."  Obama campaign cracks down on misleading TV adsSeptember 23rd, 2008 The Barack Obama campaign is asking Missouri law enforcement to target anyone who lies or runs a misleading TV ad during the presidential campaign. (Watch Newscast.)Now, perhaps there is nothing wrong with pointing out untruthful, misleading information. But in this case, there is an implicit threat from law enforcement and the courts, that if you make political claims about Barack Obama, you will be arrested and prosecuted.Does that sound like America to you?I think that Barack Obama's Special Security Force, and his Missouri Truth Squad, composed of law enforcement and criminal prosecutors sounds a bit too much like Saudi Arabia's morality police. I think that these "thoughts" that are running through the head of Barack Obama forewarn of a very real danger to freedom loving citizens of the United States of America.Have you never wondered to yourself, how the people of Germany could have allowed the Nazi scourge to become so powerful, or how the people of Germany could seemingly condone the horrific actions of their leader, Adolph Hitler and his minions? Have you ever wondered how the people of the Soviet Union could allow themselves to become virtual prisoners of their own country? What led up to the requiring of papers to travel from one city to the next?I am afraid, fellow citizens, that this is exactly how such things happen. Let us learn from history, reject the false promises of socialism, and not allow such ego maniacs to become President of the United States. I hope that sounds like good advice, because it is.© by Phil Harris Posted at 01:26 PM in Current Events | Permalink | Comments (0)

The McCain Obama Debate Do you think that Barack Obama scores points with Americans, when he reminds us that his father came from Kenya, to take advantage of our college system, and in the same hour talks about all the American children who do not have that same access?  I don't think so.Do you think that Barack Obama scores points with Americans, when he has so obviously changed his stated views for the purpose of winning the Presidency? For instance, one year ago he said that as President in his first year he would absolutely be willing to sit face to face in dialog with rogue leaders of countries such as Iran, North Korea, Cuba. Today, he says he didn't mean exactly what he said (even though he did in fact mean it at the time.)Do you think that the American people have a basic understanding, that Barack Obama is a radical left-wing socialist, and that he would transform American into a socialist nation. That his plans for this country call for the transfer by government of wealth from one class of Americans to another, is simply socialism in its most raw form. Barack Obama stated in the debate tonight, that he will raise taxes, taking money from those who can and do provide jobs, and forcibly give it to those who pay no taxes at all. The long and short of this plan, is that jobs will be eliminated, pay will be reduced, and Americans will become dependent on the government. The sad fact of the matter is, that government is incapable of being successful in that role, and on the way to collapse, the limitless opportunity we all currently have available to us will disintegrate. If this is what Americans really want, let us not waste time with Barack Obama. Let us instead just hand the White House keys to Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. That is the model for change that Barack Obama has in mind, no matter how eloquently he disguises his plans.I would prefer that Americans stop this insane march to Obama's Pied Piper song, and borrowing the words of a famous General regarding the ignorance of some, if you continue to follow the socialist Obama, you are just plain "Stuck on Stupid."   If you buy into the decades-old liberal determination to establish a socialist society for America, you may as well believe in Santa Claus. The trouble is, believing in Santa Claus will not bring our great nation to her knees, while believing Barack Obama certainly will.  Really!© by Phil Harris Posted at 11:06 PM in Current Events | Permalink | Comments (0)

Obama puts ambition above duty... Again. With a looming financial crisis, and a deadline for Congress to act before the week is done, Barack Obama has once again demonstrated a complete lack of concern for the office he currently holds. Today, Barack Obama is a U.S. Senator, and he is obligated to give the business of the United States his top priority. But he has rejected Senator McCain's call to suspend campaign activity, including the scheduled Friday debate, so that the two Senators can do their duty, and be available to debate and vote.Barack Obama had this to say...  "“I believe we should continue to have the debate” on Friday.“Presidents are going to have to deal with more than one thing at a time,” the Democratic candidate said. “It’s not necessary for us to think that we can only do one thing and suspend everything else.” He said that he and McCain have large campaign planes that can get them out of Mississippi and back to Washington quickly....which translates to... I want to be President, and nothing is going to stop me. Not even the fact that I am one of 100 Senators who should be completely focused on the current crisis facing the country. No sir.Source:  McCain Halts Campaign over Financial CrisisAnd you think Obama will be looking out for you? Credit Sanctimony Pointless If you read my Townhall column, "The Credit Industry - Death of the Pie", you may identify with the notion that one must pay the consequences for making bad decisions regarding personal finances and use of credit. The point of the article is not to argue that people are entitled to anything, or that anyone should expect to live beyond their means. The point of the column is to recognize that this economy, for better or for worse, is what it is because people are going to use credit. For mortgages, transportation, and for making purchases that are defined as "discretionary". No one working today could expect any growth in their respective field; no college student could graduate with any expectation of a job if people stopped using credit. If everyone made the wise decision to operate on a cash only basis, this enormous economy of ours would grind to a halt. Taking as a matter of fact the reality that people are going to operate across a wide spectrum of debt to income, and ability to weather hard times, this paragraph from my column goes to the point most directly:When “Bob” suffers a heart attack, I don’t think that a prudent EMT would decide that the best way to keep “Bob” going is to make him do a hundred pushups. A family that is experiencing a financial crisis and temporarily cannot honor their credit obligations is no different. Just as the cardiac patient would likely die if subjected to some kind of punishment for becoming ill, why would one expect anything different when a family’s finances become sick? This is just plain common sense. Putting aside one's own success or failure in the realm of personal financial management, to stand on the basis of what should be versus what really exists at the heart of this country's economic engine, is of no more value than peeing into the wind. Sure, you feel better for having relieved yourself, but so what. You are not necessarily better off for having done it.::: Posted at 11:24 AM in Current Events | Permalink | Comments (0)

The First Ladies Please read my column on TownHall...The First Ladies:  A Life or Death Decision"I am not certain why Barack Obama has such a callous view of infant death. Perhaps, it is a genetic holdover from the culture of his father’s Kenyan goat-herding legacy. I suppose defective baby goats were routinely cast onto the rocks and left to die. That way, only the best qualified would grow to become members of the goat-herd community. ". Posted at 04:06 PM in Current Events, Pro-Life | Permalink | Comments (0) Next »
