The Baton is PassedHeath Suddleson, DTM to Lillian Cooke, DTM
 Outgoing District Governor Heath Suddleson passes the baton of leadership to incoming District Governor Lillian Cooke at the Region VII Conference. Heath's theme of Ideas, Enthusiasm, ACTION was the rallying slogan that united the members of District 27. The members achieved education and leadership awards that led us to Distinguished District status for the 2007-2008 Toastmaster Year, and for the fourth year in a row. When the last statistics were released there were:339 Competent Communicator Awards153 Advanced Communicator Awards231 Leadership Awards27 Distinguished Clubs24 Select Distinguished Clubs31 President's Distinguished Clubs18 Distinguished Areas7 Select Distinguished Areas3 President's Distinguished Areas1 Distinguished Division2 Select Distinguished Divisions4 President's Distinguished Divisions14 New ClubsThe statistics will be updated around July 18th, and we expect even more Clubs, Areas and Divisions to show as Distinguished or Better.Lillian's theme for the 2008-2009 year is P.O.W.E.R... Positive Opportunities with Exceptional Results. Lillian says, "The Ideas, Enthusiasm and ACTION this past year has given District 27 Toastmasters the POWER to do some exceptional things this year. We expect even more clubs to seize the POWER and become Distinguished or Better. The two most favorable indicators for being Distinguished are having all the officers attend training and bringing in new members to complete speeches and assume leadership roles."
