What is Ann Foundation?     The Ann Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit volunteer organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and opportunites of children with special needs who might not otherwise receive services. Please read our mission statement for deeper information about our goals or visit our board of directors page to learn more about the key individuals involved with our organization.Please note that we do not provide funding for other organizations.The Ann Footprints "Fighting Disability - A Global Partnership To Enable The Future"Summer Newsletter, 2008Bridging The 'Digital Divide': Successful Mission Trip in 2008 Six volunteers from the U.S. participated in our winter mission: Ann Moideen, head of the foundation, two Braille teachers, two technology consultants and a graduate student with visual impairments. Finding appropriate educational opportunities for sight and hearing impaired children can be quite a challenging task in developing nations. Ann Foundation's focus is to establish and foster an international network of technical and educational support for staff and students of visual and hearing impaired schools by direct visits and by online training to assist teachers integrating accessible technology in their school curriculum. Children Helping Children Last year the children from Crossroads Bible Fellowship and their parents not only collected school supplies and hygiene kits for the children, but also raised enough funds to purchase two sets of uniforms for the physically nd mentally handicapped children at Mercy Home in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, India.  Maheshwari School UniformsCurrently the students only have one uniform each and are quite worn.Have you ever thought of what $15.00 can buy here? Probably lunch! In India it will buy a uniform for a child.How about getting a group of children involved like the children of the Crossroads, to help raise funds for the children of the Maeshwari School? We'll even put their photo in the next newsletter.The Wheelchair Project began in 2004 has been turned over to the students of Muffakhamiah College in Hyderabad under the leadership of Professor Izhrat Mirzana. AnnFoundation is seeking funding to aid this project as the students work to design a low cost wheelchair.Pierra Zane's Handmade Teddy Bears Were a Hit!  The six years-old children fell in love with the bears. Thanks to Pierra who spends countless hours making these precious bears. You cannot imagine the joy that these tactile, handmade bears bring to children who are challenged with visual impairments! Make a Difference Today: Volunteer in 2008 Experience the culture in India with short and long term volunteer opportunities.
