We are located in beautiful West Michigan, where we are blessed with wonderful weather, sunshine, and Lake Michigan. It's especially beautiful this time of the year, when the spring winds are still blowing, and the first buds of the season are beginning to show on the trees. Some of the more adventerous folks go to the lake, to walk the beach or the pier, in anxious anticipation of the coming summer. It's still chilly, but one can smell the promise of a gorgeous summer on the breeze coming off the lake. It's at times like this that we can easily feel God among us. Things seem to be going right, and we are encouraged by the weather to sit and rest for a few moments. It's easy to feel the presence of God lying in the warm sun, hearing the waves crash in on the shore, and hearing the sea gulls cry as they glide in the currents above. It's when things get hard that feel we need to search for God. When things aren't going just our way, we tend to forget moments like these. We forget that don't have to search for God. He is right here with us, all the time. Jesus promised us that He would send an Advocate to be with always. We are never alone. If things get rough for you this week, please take a few moments, and try to remember the beach. Close your eyes, and try to remember the smell, and the sounds. And ask God for guidance.
