Welcome! The Department of Religious Studies is located on the campus of California State University, Northridge. The program is designed to provide a liberal arts background with an emphasis upon religious traditions and phenomena. The department is non-sectarian and aims to serve all students with or without religious affiliation. Students of all religions and ethnic backgrounds are welcome to enroll in individual Religious Studies courses or to complete the Religious Studies major or minor. Our faculty approach the subject of Religious Studies across many contexts and disciplines including philosophy, history, sociology, psychology, anthropology, literary, and scientific. The program is cross-cultural and interdisciplinary and emphasizes the woven ties of religion to other areas of culture. Explore our site and contact us for more information. I.R.S.A. Meetings A club dedicated to the scholarship of religion and culture among students of CSUN through community involvement, social interaction with people of other religions, and learning about diverse religious traditions. Our activities involve organizing and sponsoring public lectures, discussion forums, social events, field trips, and many more activities. Wednesdays at 3:15 p.m. in SH 314.
