Welcome To First Church of God
 We are a friendly church in Marseilles, Illinois. Marseilles is located just beyond the far western suburbs of Chicago. We strive for compassionate Christian ministry to our Church Family as well as the needy in the community. Dedicated to a solid uncompromising understanding of the truth of God's Word we strive at knowing and reaching our neighbors with God's love. We are affiliated with the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana. Our congregation is coming to an understanding of how change is important to ministring to this current generation. There are many things that cannot change about the message of Jesus Christ and many things about the method of getting that message out that can change. First Church of God is growing in its understanding or worship and how that is a loving offering of praise to God. We are growing in our awareness of how we can hear from God as how to establish His plan for our lives and for our community. We have an emergent sense of calling and responsibility to be the hands and feet of God in caring for the hurting and needy of the community. One undeniable fact is that a living growing congregation of God's people must always be growing, developing and emerging into something more. What God has created to live does not stay static; but grows. So if you are interested in growing to become the servant of God that He created you to be; then come and spend some time with us.
Pioneer Club Nurtures Local Children

Pioneer Clubs is an age graded program  which meets at our church from 6:30 - 8:00 every Wednesday night during the school year. It is structured well for the teachers in their materials which means that lessons are valid, interesting and meaningful for everyday life. Students learn a variety of topics from Bible knowledge, to hobbies to relationship skills. Each year we have had between 35 to 50 children attend our club. The Club stands for training children to embrace Christ in every area of their lives. We have found that the dedicated teachers have filled a roll in nurturing the lives of the children who come here. There is a great need for love acceptance and nurture in our society. So many things are up for grabs and values are shifting and being blown around in the wind. We are finding, though, that it is possible to teach a set of solid, moral and Biblical values while at the same time affirming and valuing the individual. Pioneer Clubs has become a success because it offers guidance and stability to children. We make it our goal to teach children and families that God loves them and that He has a great plan for their benefit and their future. For more info call: 815-795-2346 or 815-795-4096.
