WELCOME TO OZARKOPATHY.ORG Ozarkopathy (O-zark-OP-athee) is a neologism that means "sickness of the Ozarks" and refers to the extreme social pathology of the Ozark Mountain Region. This pathology includes bigotry, fraud, drugs, violence, and corruption. Unfortunately, this pathology is not well-known and catches many people by surprise. The purpose of this website is to publicize the dangers of the Ozarks and the plight of its victims. Ozarkopathy.org was written and created by Jeff Biener and Mary Meriam, who bought a house in the Missouri Ozarks in 1994. As a result of this transaction, they became victims of real estate fraud, insurance fraud, bank fraud, forgery, legal malpractice, drug trafficking, assault, extortion, civil rights violations, anti-Semitism, perjury, witness tampering, collusion, and corruption. Despite volumes of evidence, they received no help from the local, state, and federal government, which repeatedly ignored and covered-up crucial evidence. Jeff and Mary met other victims of the Ozarks. Each one had a horror story, and each one was abandoned by the government. The government refuses to regulate the Ozarks, and the media refuse to criticize the Ozarks. So each victim becomes David fighting an army of Goliaths. And outsiders have to learn about the Ozarks the hard way. Ozarkopathy.org exposes the hate, hypocrisy, and injustice of the Ozarks with facts, audio, poetry, satire, and cartoons.
