The Organisation
Independent
Advocacy Project (IAP), the good governance group promotes - through
advocacy, coalition building, research, publications and information sharing -
respect for good governance in Nigeria. IAP brings individuals, groups and
organisations together within and outside Nigeria, building partnerships and
sharing information on ways to promote participation, accountability and
effectiveness at all levels. The organisation works through programme staff
with the support of a programme support team.
Our Status
IAP is a non partisan, non-governmental advocacy
group established in 2002 in Nigeria and registered under Nigerian laws as a not-for-profit

- where individuals and groups have the opportunity to contribute to the
decision making process, thereby contributing to efforts aimed at eliminating or
reducing corruption and opaqueness. IAP is a leading member of the Campaign for
Accountability in Governance through Elections (CAGE) the Civil Society Friends
of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) and the Zero Corruption Coalition.
Structure
IAP is
governed by a Board of
Directors, which is being advised and supported by an Advisory Council.
The Director is in
charge of the
ay to day administration of the organisation
Publications
Our flagship publications are
Governance News, a
monthly electronic publication of news on good governance in Nigeria and Governance
Journal, an in-depth quarterly of news and features, featuring contributions
from intellectuals, partners, staff and associates of the Project. These are
in addition to specialised reports related to our different programme areas.
IAP also issues press statements and posts relevant news from other
news sources on this website.
