Special Announcement: On February 14, 2005 at 6:56 am, June Louise Ferguson Lisle went home to be with her loved ones in heaven. My Mother was 87 years old and will be missed by her children, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Feel free to use our Site Search option from Google to search for your surname throughout our site. The results will open in a new window. Webourfamilyancestors.com This site is dedicated to my GrandMother, Bertha Ellen Hamilton Ferguson and my Mother, June Louise Ferguson Lisle. GrandMother is the beautiful lady in the picture above holding my Mother. The handsome man with her is my mysterious GrandFather. He is only mysterious because he died when my Mother was just 6 years old and we have been unable to locate information proving his adoption into the Ferguson family. If you have visited in the past and didn't find a connection, check again. We have also added articles from various sources pertaining to historical events as well as step by step instructions for beginning your family search. We are slowly adding obituaries from various sources. You can use the site search by google above to see if we have an obituary on your ancestor. Our Photo Gallery ( dedicated to Tombstone photos) is now online and new photos are added as we are able to take them. If you have submitted data that is as yet not included in our database, please send me an email. As in all genealogy web pages, please remember that there is always a chance that an error has been made on some of the information, therefore, please double check the data yourself to be sure. I have tried to include source information on all of the data but if you find one that does not have the source listed, please send me an email and I will be glad to send you the data. Please take a look at our Unidentified Photos The link above will take you to our photo album of unknown family members. Some of the photos were enhanced to assist in recognition as they are very old. All of these came from a steamer trunk of my Grandmother, Bertha Ellen Hamilton Ferguson, who lived in Webster and Sunflower County, Mississippi most of her life. I am sure they are from either the Ferguson, Hamilton, Stallings, Holland, Fulgham, or Noblin families as she and her sisters appear to have kept fairly close ties with their cousins. Our main hope for this website is and always will be to locate unknown family members. If you find a connection to our family from yours, please let us know. It is always a pleasure to meet new additions and at sometime in the future, we hope to be able to meet some of you in person. Be sure you check our Surnames database for links to your own family. The Family Histories link at the top of the page will take you to our family history pages for each of our lines. We are actually researching two family lines, one traces my paternal (Lisle/Long) and maternal (Ferguson/Hamilton) lines and the other traces my husband's paternal (Mayo/Jared) and maternal (Beardsley/Hackelman) lines. Both of our families have strong southern connections and, with the exception of the Beardsley/Hackelman line, appear to have migrated from South Carolina and Georgia to Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. With our latest update, we now have relatives all across the United States both North and South. We have also discovered that as the history books have stated, the Civil War was fought by brother against brother. We not only had Confederate soldiers but also found quite a number of distinguished Union soldiers in our families. We have also located a number of relatives who fought in the American Revolution of which we are extremely proud. As time allows, I will be adding more photos of our ancestors to our Photo Album. Our Favorite Links page has been revised to shorten the load time. You will find links to genealogy resources sites that we have found during our research. We will continue to add links that will assist you in your research, so come back often to check out our new links. Because of its extensive census images and indices, and its World War 1 Draft Cards, it has the best collection at this time too. Its census images presently cover all available federal US records, and contains extensive census images from Canada, UK, Scotland, and Germany. This is a subscription based service, however you can access the databases for the next 14 days for free by using their Free Trial at Ancestry offer. Free Trial - Ancestry.com World Deluxe Membership FootNote FootNote is not nearly as large as Ancestry, but the quality of data goes unsurpassed for American researchers. While FootNote started out as a history based website, it has branched out into providing other types of genealogical data. What makes it stand out in the genealogy community is the type of data it provides. Its all images of original documents. There are no transcribed databases, no genealogy books scanned... it's all original documents. They're also making a concerted effort to add value to any subscription purchased, by adding over 2 million new images each month. By number of people their size of offering cannot compare with Ancestry. But if you find your ancestor in the data they do provide, you will hit pay-dirt in the quality of the data. Footnote offers a free trial, and you can access it using this link: Start Your Free Trial With Footnote.com World Vital Records World Vital Records is quickly establishing itself as a serious competitor to Ancestry. It presently offers a basic collection of over 2,000 databases and books, but is quickly branching out to include 1790-1920 census images for the United States. With its present price point, this will have a serious affect on Ancestry subscriptions.
