In the 1600's the ROLL family lived in Jockgrim, Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany which is in the west-central part of Germany near the French border. The family moved in 1809 to the towns of Rastadt, Sulz and Landau in Beresan, Cherson, South Russia . Four orphaned ROLL siblings (George , Sebastian , Monica ROLL SCHAFF , and Joseph ), emigrated to southwest North Dakota between 1891 and 1903. It is rumored they left behind two sisters. Other North Dakota ROLL emigrant cousins include Joseph ROLL [ERHARDT/KUNTZ] , Jacob John ROLL [BOPP/RISSLING] , Magdalena ROLL FEININGER , Margaret ROLL HERNER , and Marian ROLL REICHERT . To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ROLL children's US citizenship, the ROLL families are planning a year 2008 family reunion in Bismarck, North Dakota.
