Chapter 1 The End
A Blind Date Gone Wrong:
The dim candlelight revealed pale white skin and a small
tattoo of a flower near her private garden area. Yes, Susan was accurate.
Grace was well groomed. In fact,
the entire grassland had been mowed. I
assume, in part at least, this was to show off the flower tattoo. Her midsection was somewhat flabby but
nicely sized breasts made this forgivable.
It was tough getting one of those things completely in my mouth but I
tried.
Depression:
I could not go on like this…I pulled out a 22 revolver I
kept in my desk drawer... I placed my finger on the trigger and pressed the
nozzle into my temple. Just one squeeze
of the trigger will take away the pain.
Chapter 2 The Art of Hunting
What it Means to be a Warrior:
“I teach how
people how to live life as a warrior,” he answered with a proud and distinct
voice.
“What do you
do, show people how to live on wild plants and kill deer with a bow and
arrow?”
I was being
purposely unpleasant in the hope he would go away.
“No, no, no!”
he smiled completely ignoring my attempts to discourage him. “A warrior is one who takes complete
responsibility for his or her life. A
warrior is concerned with self mastery.”
Learning to be a Hunter in a Topless Bar:
She looked very young, perhaps a teenager eighteen or
nineteen years old. She had brown hair,
brown eyes, and denim shorts cut along the bottom to reveal the lower part of
her derriere and cut randomly along the sides to reveal she wore no under
garments. Her top was covered, just
barely, with a cut off white tee shirt that failed to hide the bottom part of
her smallish but perky breasts. Her
nipples pressed against the shirt like two pencil erasers and a gold belly
button ring wonderfully highlighted her perfectly flat stomach.
Stalking:
Leo taught that I should observe a person’s thought process
by watching their eyes and carefully listen to how they structure their
language. The idea is then to
communicate back in the same fashion to gain rapport.
Listening to Feelings:
“As a warrior, you can use the internal feelings of
conflict as a signal that something is wrong.
Your conscious and subconscious desires are not in harmony at that
time. Your task is then to determine
what is causing the conflict and to resolve it on your own terms. If you do not, your behavior will be
determined by impulsive emotions instead of purposeful action.”
Chapter 3 Crushing Enemies
On Self-Pity:
…Leo advised, “Anytime you experience the temptation to
wallow in self pity, remember … the lesson of Death… You now know how to defeat
your worst enemy. When we face our
inevitable death, the trivial things that encourage self pity quickly
disappear.”
Seduction in Action:
“What’s
your name?” I asked.
“Helen.”
“Ah, so you are appropriately named after
a beautiful princess who launched a thousand ships to rescue her.” Her face broke out into another big
grin. “My name is Tony.”
“Hi Tony,” she said with a sweet
smile that hinted of shyness.
Chapter 4 Increasing Power
Meeting Ones Match:
We faced off again but before she was fully set, I tried
to surprise her with a fast thrusting front kick aimed at her midsection. In a flash, Tara parried the kick, and moved
to the inside. With one hand at the
small of my back and the other under my chin, she sent my body sailing backward
slamming me into the hard wooden floor.
The impact with the floor knocked the wind out of my lungs. I picked my ego and myself off the floor.
Recapturing Energy:
“Buried emotional wounds drain us of valuable
energy. At times of stress, they often
erupt to the surface uncontrolled...”
“So,” I asked, “what’s the trick?”
“The
trick, as you put it, is to allow the repressed emotion to be expressed in a
safe way that does no harm to yourself or others. Once the repressed emotion is acknowledged and allowed
expression, it is released. Once
released, the energy once used to repress it is free to return into our being.
Chapter 5 Riches
Conquest:
I removed her shirt.
My right hand then unclasped the bra in the back and my left hand pushed
the straps off her shoulders. I began
to stroke the soft flesh of her breasts by just barely touching them with the
back of my hand. I then turned my wrist
and cupped one of her breasts in my palm massaging it while gently manipulating
the nipple with two of my fingers. My
own breathing quickened while I pondered how far she would allow me to go.
On Being a Warrior:
“When your actions and thoughts lead you to harmony with yourself,
others, and the universe, you are acting as a warrior. When your actions or thoughts lead to
harming yourself or others or result in disharmony, then you are acting like a
jackass. In your life, you will find
yourself wavering from warrior to jackass and back again.
Chapter 6 Discovering the Heart
After I dressed, I sat on the hard wooden bench in front
of the locker… Unexpectedly, a profound feeling of sadness accompanied by tears
overcame me. I felt a hand on my
shoulder. Out of the corner of my eye I
saw Tara who was now dressed modestly in a black sweat suit. She sat next to me straddling the bench and
put one arm around my shoulders and her other arm around my waist. She held me until the sadness passed and
then left just as silently as she had come.
Chapter 7 Harmony
Encounters:
By the time we arrived at the house, her head bobbled
freely against the back of the car seat.
With her nearly passed out, I struggled to get her out of the car and to
the front door…I carried her inside by lifting her up and over my left
shoulder. Her legs were hanging to one
side in front of me while her body was draped over my back. The position of her body caused the skirt to
hike up revealing the bottom half of her bare backside. I turned my head and found my nose just an
inch away from the soft white flesh of her buttocks.
Balance:
“A warrior strives to mirror the balance of the
universe. Therefore, he does not try to
eliminate or diminish the light or the dark side. Instead, he strives to interact with each in harmony. If a person attempts to permanently align
themselves with one side of the force, the counter force shall destroy
them.
Chapter 8 Setbacks
Sad Endings:
I involuntarily sighed as I mentally prepared myself for
the unpleasant task of speaking to Ann about our future, or more accurately,
our lack of a future together. Upon
entering her home, I tried to hide feelings of anxiety and sadness. Ann’s fat basset hound hurriedly wobbled
over and greeted me with generous licks of affection on my face as I knelt down
to pet him.
Chapter 9 Healing
Tara had me go through the entire Tai Chi short form
consisting of twenty-four movements.
After a brief break, she had me do it again. But this time she joined me matching my exact tempo and
speed. Our synchronized movements made
me feel very centered and calm. A
thought flashed through my mind wondering how well we would move together in
more intimate ways.
Chapter 10 Searching
Leo told me during our sessions that I emotionally
internalized the stern father figure within me. This is one of the reasons I was impatient with other people and
myself he explained. That internalized
figure was one of the demons Leo said I must defeat to become a warrior.
Chapter 11 Directions
“... Choose your
path and choose well. The wrong path
leads to destruction. The right path,
the way of the warrior, leads to healing and redemption. No matter how you have suffered, no matter
what you have ever done, you have the opportunity to create the life you desire
from this time forward.”
“Your words give me comfort and hope
Leo. But, when I leave here, I will be
going back to the same world I find so troubling. I then slip back into old habits and behavior. It’s very discouraging.”
“That,”
said Leo pausing for emphasis, “is the struggle of a warrior. You either accept the challenge of the
struggle or surrender to it…”
