Al hablar de los Celtas, los escritores
de habla inglesa se remiten con asiduidad a los irlandeses del medioevo, escoceses y
galeses, mientras que los de habla hispana a los de Galicia. Ante el devenir histórico de
las poblaciones celtas, o al ampliar algunas de sus particularidades, es que los Galos
hacen su tímida aparición. Sin embargo, la Galicia española, el país de Gales, la
Galitzia polaca, la Galacia e incluso el antiguo nombre de los celtas que habitaron
Irlanda, derivan de los Galos.Después de
muchos años de buscar inútilmente materiales informativos en español sobre este pueblo,
yo me pregunto si los amantes del mundo céltico que se expresan en esta lengua conocen a
los galos. Y de no ser así, ¿puede estimarse de que hayan llegado a conocer, en
realidad, a los Celtas?
El propósito de este sitio web, como el del libro que tengo en
preparación, es de acercar a los hispanoparlantes que aman lo celta, el precioso universo
de los Galos, ya que éstos son los pueblos celtas tradicionales que mejor han llegado a
conocer los arqueólogos, historiadores y demás estudiosos del tema, a pesar de las
grandes dificultades con que tropiezan día a día.
Quand on parle des Celtes, les écrivains anglophones font appel des Irlandais,
Gallois, Écossais, et en langue espagole, le peuple de la Galice est toujours le
référant. Ce n’est qu’à l’heure de l’Histoire ou d’approfondir
certaines particularités des Celtes, que les Gaulois font leur timide rentrée dans les
textes. Pourtant la Galice espagnole, le pays de Galles, la Galitzia polonaise, la
Galatie, et même l’ancien nom des celtes de l’Irlande renvoyent aux Gaulois.
Depuis beaucoup d’années de recherche
inutile de matériel sur ce peuple-ci, je me demande si les amoureux du monde celtique
s’exprimant en espagnol connaissent-ils les Gaulois. Et si l’on ne leur connais
pas, peut-on alors dire que la connaissance des celtes est chose réussie? Des Celtes
traditionnaux, ceux que l’on appelle Gaulois depuis le temps des Romains, sont
aujourd’hui les mieux connus, malgré les difficultés que les historiens et les
archéologues retrouvent jjour à jour.
Le propos de ce site web, et de l’ouvrage
que j’ai en préparation, c’est de rapprocher les celtophiles hispanophones de
l’univers des Gaulois.
When English writers speak about Celts, they refer to the Irish, Scotch and Welsh
people in the Middle Ages, while Spaniards mean Galicia. Even though the Celts had
inhabited Europe long before the Gauls began to appear little by little, most
Celts’names come from the Gauls’language like Galicia, Wales, Galitzia, Galacy,
and the first Celts’ names in Ireland.
After looking for information about the Gauls in Spanish written books, I wonder wether
latin people who love Celts, are aware of the Gauls. If they aren’t, how can they
claim to know the Celts?
The aim of this web site, as well as the book I’m preparing, is to contact Spanish
speaking people to the wonderful Gauls’universe. These tribes are the traditional
Celts who are best know by archaeologists, historians and other
researches who keep on working in spite of the difficulties they have to overcome
everyday.
