 With the support of Lumina Foundation for Education, the National Center on Adult Literacy (NCAL) is creating a web-based resource for youth and adult learners to promote improved learner knowledge about, and motivation to pursue, pathways to success in basic skills and postsecondary education. NCAL, in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), is pleased to announce its 2006 volume, entitled: ICT and Learning: SUPPORTING OUT-OF-SCHOOL YOUTH AND ADULTS. Edited by Dan Wagner (NCAL) and Richard Sweet (OECD), this volume reports on a timely and important topic that was the subject of debate at an international roundtable at the University of Pennsylvania. Monitoring and Evaluation of ICT in Education Projects: A Handbook for Developing Countries Read about this new Handbook developed for InfoDev and the World Bank. It was presented as part of an international roundtable at the United Nations World Summit on Information Societies (WSIS), held in November 2005 in Tunis, Tunisia. BFI India Progress Report, January 2007. BFI has joined in partnership with Byrraju Foundation in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh to expand to include both children in school, as well as out-of-school youth. An evaluation is currently taking place that will be released soon, which demonstrates the very positive consequences of ICT-based multimedia for literacy. Following completion of this study, the BFI and Byrraju anticipate expansion to include over 200 communities supported by Byrraju.
