 That's the spirit The notion of spirituality is a bit of a conundrum for we godless. The question is, when we do away with the reliance on the old boy in the sky to solve all problems, reward the pure and punish the baddies etc.., do we also toss out any notion of spirituality along with the metaphysical claptrap or try and hang on to the idea and give it a materialist spin? Paul Heelas, who is a Prof of Religion by trade, argues in the current issue that even atheists need a notion of the sacred.
