Home Page        Activiteiten in 2008 CV & Achtergrondverhaal PersArchief  Johan van Breukelen (1952) is beeldend kunstenaar en begeleider (coach) van groepen rondom bewustzijn. Naast zijn theater en schilderwerk heeft hij zich vanaf 1988 als fotograaf gespecialiseerd in mannelijk naakt. Eerst met fotowerken, een combinatie van fotografie en krijtbewerking. Tegenwoordig alleen met pure fotografie. (zonder digitale bewerking!) Kenmerk in zijn werk is vaak de herhaling en de vervorming van de afgebeelde figuur. Spiegels zijn daarbij een essentieel onderdeel van de foto. In zijn fotowerk probeert hij iets van het mysterie zichtbaar te maken van mannelijke seksuele energie, kracht en kwetsbaarheid. Van Breukelen is lange tijd gefascineerd geweest door de schaduwzijde van seksualiteit met al zijn vervormende aspecten. Hij wil tegelijkertijd ook de onschuld en de schoonheid van het verlangen laten zien, het zoeken naar contact, verbinding en bezieling. Ook buiten zijn kunstenaarsschap heeft hij zich gespecialiseerd in het werken met mannen. Hij is vanaf 1985 verbonden aan Stichting Mannenwerk. Ruim 20 jaar training en ervaring in het leiden van groepen rondom bewustzijn in het hier en nu, contact maken en het creatief vormgeven van je eigen leven. Sinds 2006 is hij een van de workshopleiders. Johan van Breukelen (1952) is a visual artist who, since 1989 has specialized in the male nude. In the beginning it was photo-artwork using a combination of photography and chalk. Nowadays it is solely pure photography (without the use of Photoshop or digital image editing!). Characteristic in his work is often the multiple image and the distortion of the model. Because of this, mirrors are an essential component of the photograph. In his photographs he tries to capture some of the mystery, strength and vulnerability of male sexual energy. Van Breukelen has been fascinated by the darker side of sexuality with its sometimes deforming aspects. Since 1991 the work of Van Breukelen has been important to the image of the Mannenwerk foundation.
