i was wrong…

Baby #3 - Sonny as it has been named by Miss Moo - does not need any more clothes at this stage… Even though there are 14 weeks until Sonny is born, I decided that this afternoon would be the perfect opportunity to sort thru the 00000 & 0000 boxes of clothes with the helpful but yet not so helpful girls by my side. Because the season is the total opposite to when Moo & TB were born, I thought that we would need some stuff - but we have so much white & yellow summer wondersuits and other white summerish items that I dont really think that I need to worry at the moment. Although, Kmart & Target both have kids sales on again this week - so I cannot promise that I wont be tempted into getting something just because it is so cute and small!

Won a 10km race on the weekend
Posted on August 19th, 2008 by Cade
As previously mentioned, I entered the 10km version of the Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon on the weekend. Much to my surprise the field was very small (probably only 30 runners) and not very competitive. Subsequently I finished first, by at least 1 minute I reckon. Not sure of the actual time yet, but apparently I finished the run somewhere in the 46 minute range. Given the cold conditions (I almost lost feeling in my hands for a little while), and the 10 styles we had to climb over, I thought that was a reasonable time, although a good 7 minutes slower than my quickest time for a 10km. However now it appears that the 10km distance was actually more like 11km. Not surprisingly, this is a very, very pleasant surprise. I don’t feel quite so awkward about my ‘victory’ now.

sleepy mornings
Posted on August 17th, 2008 by Lisa
Usually (this is most, not all) we Whitbourn girls get up around 7:00-8:00am. Now, there are occasions when its both of them up early or both of them up late, but more recently it is one or the other up so I can get away with staying in bed longer with one of them by my side having a snuggle time. I have never been a morning person, I dont think I ever will be. I got Cade to “drop” Maisie into our bed this morning as she had woken up at 7:20am and I couldnt pull myself out into the cold morning air. As we lay together snuggled under a pile of blankets I was telling her about when she was a little baby and I used to bring her into Mummys bed in the morning after Daddy had gone to work and we would play and sing and then have another sleep before getting up for breakfast. She lay there listening to me with a tiny little grin on her face - and I couldnt help but wonder what she was thinking about… We lasted in bed until 7:50am, when she sat up and announced that it was “time to get out”, so my morning then finally had to start. Now - I am not complaning at all - as I am very well aware of children (im talking about you Eli!) that feel the need to wake BEFORE 7am - which is really just punishment! I am thankful for any extra sleep that I can squeeze into my mornings and I do enjoy having a snuggle with my precious girls - as I know that it has a limited time frame!

Blinky Bills
Posted on August 15th, 2008 by Cade
At almost 13 months, Talia is now getting to the age where she is actually becoming a little person. By that I mean, she is starting to respond to verbal instructions, such as ’show me your blinking’… Maisie however, at 26 months, is at the stage where all she wants to do is copy everything her younger sister does.

This time last year…
Posted on August 14th, 2008 by Lisa
we were moving from Sydney to Wagga! It really doesnt feel like a year since we left the big smoke in search of a quiet country lifestyle that was closer to family, but I think that we have all found what we were looking for. A great workplace for Cade with flexible hours and the ability to start early to finish early suits us just fine and means that we get to spend afternoons all together. A fantastic house that has everything we need (the new kitchen to come one day…) and keeps us warm in the winter and cool in the summer! A great Church & family at St Aidans that again has everything that we could ever want and need and a relaxed town that is easy to get around and fun to explore. God has provided us with everything that we could ever ask for and we are thankful for His many blessings to us.

FOR SALE
Posted on August 13th, 2008 by Lisa
1 Cat named Charlie - female, mostly friendly, likes to be kept warm and snuggle up to people and enjoys eating. DOB December 2002. 1 Dog named Punky - female, very friendly, likes to lick and jump on people, also enjoys being kept warm and eating. DOB March 2004. I did always say that after I had children, my animals would still have a place in my heart as they are such a beautiful part of our family - BUT THEY ARE NOT. THEY ARE EVIL, ANNOYING, STINKY, DISGUSTING creatures with NO RESPECT for our lovely home or us. THIS IS A WARNING GIRLS - consider yourselves on very very very THIN ice…

just hurry up already
Posted on August 12th, 2008 by Lisa
I fell over on the tiles at our front door after chasing my nephew thru the door whilst trying to kick him in the backside. I am happy to admit what a stupid thing it was to do - not only because I have a history of falling over when least expected, or that my nephew can clearly outrun me (and pbly out kick me as well), but that I am even more likely to fall whilst pregnant as I have no balance at all. This would equal about 4 pregnant falls over my 3 pregnancies. The way I fell was straight onto my backside - at the time I thought to myself “wow - thats gonna hurt tomorrow and how embarssing to fall in front of most of my husbands family, lucky I am behind a wall and most of them cannot see me”, but I never thought that 5 WEEKS LATER it would still be sore. Now, it is on the improve. It is much better than the first few weeks, but I cannot understand how it is still sore. I have to sit weird still and when I try and hop up from sitting on the floor, it aches like nothing else. Of course, I did tell the midwife about it at my last appointment, and she said that there was nothing that they can do for me - that it sounded like I had either brusied, cracked or broken my tailbone but they couldnt do an xray due to my pregnancy and that I would just have to wait it out. So I am a bit over it all now - I just want the pain in my backside TO GO AWAY already. I have learnt my lesson. Dont chase your nephew around on tiles whilst trying to kick him…. (catch him first and then kick him)

August 2008 Update
Posted on August 6th, 2008 by Lisa
I had a fun friday last week with the Norman children coming over for the morning for a play. I took them all to playgroup with me - so I was a Mum to 5 kids under the age of 6 (with 4 of them 3 and under!) - so that was exciting! My girls had such a fun time with them all being here and it was great to be able to catch up. Sarah, Tom, Bekka & Moo (Tali was sleeping!) The girls went to Bethanys 4th birthday party on saturday morning. It was a princess/prince theme, so Moo & TB went as fairy princess’ because thats what we had for them to wear! Moo & TB all dressed up and ready to go party Charlie (our cat) has made friends with the local neighbourhood cats and brings them home. Its now not unusal for there to be a couple of cats out the front of our house at numerous times of the day (this grey one came knocking at 3am the other morning wanting Charlie to come and play…) Charlies Friend (the offical name of the grey cat) & Charlie at the front door. Cades snow & snap peas are going crazy! This picture is two days worth!! Maisie has just had a whole day in “big girl knickers”.. its been a long day, and we are up to knicker number 4 - but I think we have made some progress! Tali is closer to walking - we are down to hanging onto one hand most of the time and she is getting much more confidence! And, thats about it for now!

I just ran 9.4km in 42 minutes
Posted on August 6th, 2008 by Cade
That works out at basically 4:30min per km over a flat and easy course. For a training run, I am happy with that. It indicates to me that I have returned to a reasonable base fitness. From here, over the next few months, I need to start doing a few things: A tough weekly interval/fartlek session A weekly/fortnightly long run building from 10km up to about 25km Compete in a few running events such as the 10km fun run as part of the Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon and the Lake to Lagoon Regularly (but not every week) attend Wagga Road Runners Continue to do plenty of cross training (bike riding) and at least 60mins every day of stretches/core strength work
