The Access Rights Movement The Access Rights Movement (ARM) unites the Parent Movement, Independent Living Movement and any other disability movement into one movement. ARM unites all disabilities group into one political voice. The motto for ARM is: We demand access to buildings. We demand access to free speech. We demand access to freedom of thought. We demand access to basic needs. We demand access to health care. We demand access to employment. We demand access to housing. We demand access to justice. We demand access to a world without prejudice. We demand access to independent living and employment. ARM rejects that the disability community needs charity. Disability charities feeds the prejudice that harms us. US Constitution Disability Rights Amendment Disability Rights Amendment ARTICLE - ''SECTION 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of mental, cognitive, physical, psychological or emotional disability. ''SECTION 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article. ''SECTION 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.'' The definition of disability is that a person with a disability is a whole and distinguished person. The term "disability" summarizes a great number of different functional limitations occurring in the US. People with a disability must have a physical, intellectual or sensory impairment, medical conditions or mental illness. Such impairments, conditions or illnesses may be permanent or transitory in nature. A person with a disability has one or more physical or mental disabilities resulting from AIDS, amputation, arthritis, autism, blindness, burn injury, cancer, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, deafness, head injury, heart disease, hemiplegia, hemophilia, respiratory or pulmonary dysfunction, mental retardation, severe pain, mental illness, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, musculo-skeletal disorders, neurological disorders (including stroke and epilepsy), paraplegia, quadriplegia, and other spinal cord conditions, sickle cell anemia, specific learning disability, chemical caused disease, end-stage renal disease, or another disability or combination of disabilities determined to cause comparable substantial functional limitation. A person with a disability may not surrender his/her disability rights because of therapy, medicine, nor medical equipment. Purpose of Disability Rights Amendment It is exceedingly necessary to have specific language in the Constitution establishing the principle of equal rights on the foundation of disability since from the moment in time in US history, when Americans could discriminate against people with disabilities, they did. The US Constitution intended to delegate human rights to all citizens of the United States. These human rights are denied to people with disabilities. Every federal law written for people with disabilities has been changed to weaken by non-disabled people. This denies people with disabilities, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Until people with disabilities obtain the Disability Rights Amendment (DRA). People with disabilities do not have the basic human right of being a person. So, "We the people," is being denied to people with disabilities. The DRA is mandatory to prohibit human rights abuses against people with disabilities and those that have anal sex and those that participate in wife switch. When people with disabilities are denied rights, an abuse ensues. The DRA's definition of disability will stop the guess work that was cause by the Garret case which the US Supreme Court left in confusion. DRA will unite, protect, and liberate advocates, activists, professionals, caregivers and the individuals that are affected by the disability plight. DRA will force to be established fair justice for people with disabilities. DRA will be difficult to weaken once ratified, unlike the current laws for people with disabilities, labyrinth marketing demonstrates the issue quite well. No budget cuts, politics, or court will be able to modify the DRA. Permanent is the bedrock of DRA and is needed for people with disabilities. DRA will send a message to people who oppose people with disabilities to live, that people with disabilities are human beings and are given the same human rights that nondisable people obtain. DRA will centralize services for people with disabilities. People with disabilities currently use many different US Governmental Departments in order to access services for their basic needs. DRA will be imperative for 54 million citizens of the US with disabilities. |
