Grab your suit and slip on the swimmies because the Indoor Waterpark WILL be open for this year’s FurFright! Against all odds it will be finished a month ahead of schedule and will open October 10th, just in time! I can already smell the wet fur! Now as exciting as this news is, and as cool as it will be to have additional activities available in the hotel, FurFright has always been about giving you an awesome con! So if water parks aren’t your thing, don’t worry, we’ll still be busting our tails to give you the best con allowed by law! If you DO wanna get wet, here’s all the water park info: Rides/Attractions: Three 40-foot body/raft slides; Adventure River (a moving river you can tube and drift on); indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi; Wet Rooster Bar; Key Quest Arcade; A&W restaurant and a Pizza Hut Express; Activity Pool; Parrot’s Perch Island; and more! Also, the park is always kept a sunny 84 degrees, so even during the Fall you’ll be ready for a swim! Basic Rates (we’re still awaiting information on group rates, which may provide a discount): $29 for a single day pass, $39 on Saturdays Day-passes can be purchased at the front desk or in advance at cocokeywaterresort.com (the Waterbury, CT page is not up yet, but check back because the website sometimes offers special rates). Their music has been described as… "Way off-kilter Americana, singer-songwriter, fingerstyle, alt-rockabilly pretentious crap!" -- Harold What Harold neglected to mention is that most of the songs are about hauntings, death, abandoned farmhouses, shrieking statues, accursed cellars, shunned graveyards, things in the attic, and doomed séances . . . and that the personages in the songs generally end up dead, undead, or in a madhouse! Despite this seemingly grim subject matter, Bob's music generally has a strangely bright, sunny character, and as an entertainer he always leaves the crowd laughing at the encroaching horrors. Aside from his many solo albums, Bob is well-known in the avant-rock world as a recording engineer and producer, holding 'the weirdest resumé in Hollywood'- including: Ice Cube, Shirley MacLaine, Tina Turner, Engelbert Humperdinck, George Clinton, Charo, Quincy Jones, and others. Lately he's gotten into fursuit performing and in the spring of 2008 performed with the group Thinking Plague in Paris and at the Gouvea Art Rock Festival in Portugal as "Beardog" on the drums. drums (Bob will not be performing in suit at FurFright, but fursuiters and other surprises will be part of the show).
