Fjármálaeftirlitið takmarkar skortsölu
Vegna þeirra sérstöku aðstæðna sem nú ríkja á markaði og til þess að stuðla að og viðhalda fjármálastöðugleika hefur Fjármálaeftirlitið ákveðið að skilgreina skortsölu hlutabréfa tiltekinna útgefenda sem hegðun andstæða viðurkenndri markaðsframkvæmd. Aðili sem hegðar sér andstætt viðurkenndri markaðsframkvæmd kann að vera fundinn sekur um markaðsmisnotkun, skv. 117. gr. laga um verðbréfaviðskipti nr. 108/2007.

Fjármálaeftirlitið hefur ákveðið að stöðva tímabundið viðskipti með alla fjármálagerninga sem gefnir eru út af Glitni banka hf. Kaupþingi banka hf., Landsbanka Íslands hf., Straumi-Burðarási fjárfestingarbanka hf., Spron hf. og Exista hf., og teknir hafa verið til viðskipta á skipulegum verðbréfamarkaði.
